How long does it take to toast a pop-tart?!

One of my favorite Brian Regan clips of all time:

"People don't have that kind of time? Who doesn't have time to toast a pop-tart?"

I think one of the reasons I like this video so much is that I often think of it day-to-day whenever I feel hurried doing something that I really want to do. For example, if I'm sitting around chatting with a friend, but thinking in the back of my mind of something else I "should" be doing, I remember Brian Regan. How long does it take to chat with a friend? 'People don't have that kind of time?' Yes, I look into the philosophical with Brian Regan skits.

Another thing that reminds me of this skit is when I call a girl to go out with me, and it is a scheduling nightmare to find a time that works for her. Now I realize that much of the time she just is trying to find an excuse not to go out, (and I'm fine with that, whatever), but I feel like sometimes these girls really wouldn't mind going out but are ridiculously over scheduled. I just want to yell at them: "This date will take an hour! Who doesn't have time to toast a pop tart!? If you seriously don't have one hour in the next week, maybe you need to loosen up your schedule."

So let us all take Brian Regan to heart, and make sure we have time to toast our metaphorical pop-tarts.

...if you're waking, eatin' and haulin' in 3 seconds you're booking yourself too tight. I remind Kelsi of this daily, but in her case she just over-sleeps or spends too long in the shower.

Hey look, I read your blog. (As for whether I mean "I do read your blog" or "I did read your blog" . . . well, we'll see.)

And now I feel like I've overscheduled my weekend, but I do feel inspired not to begrudge taking time to do things. I'll be sitting at the temple reminding myself "Who doesn't have time to toast a pop tart?"
