Projector meets Nature

So I have a projector and surround sound set up in my basement. It came with the house. The projector projects on the wall, and it takes up a good 75% of the wall. It is a pretty cool little setup. It is good for watching sports, great for watching movies, good for watching youtube clips, but... where it really shines is when we pop in the nature documentaries.

Don't laugh. Because the people that have seen a nature documentary on my setup know that is actually really really cool. We watch Planet Earth, Life, Nature's Most Amazing Events, and Blue Planet. For example, there is one shot in Planet Earth where they are in a helicopter and they pan over the top of Angel Falls. One second, they are following a normal looking river along, and the next minute, the ground basically falls away to an enormous breathtaking green valley, where you can see the mist from waterfall just beneath. It is amazing.

Or my personal favorite where they somehow set up cameras in and avalanche path, then triggered the avalanche. For about a full minute, the wall turns into an avalanche rushing towards your face. The first time i saw it I watched it 3 times.

You've never seen a nature documentary until you've seen it on a projector.

You're a nerd.

On the bright side, my new room has a projector screen in it. Who wouldn't want a huge screen at the end of their bed...?

I agree. I've seen some Planet Earth on a hi-def projector. It was pretty awesome.

This reminds me of the ride, Soarin' Over California at Disney's California Adventure!

Do you have the pine smell and the air blowing when you watch the shows? :P
