Here is a confession. Its a confession about a personality quirk.
I think my threshold for boredom is below the level for most human beings. Meaning, I get bored easy. This was brought to my attention once again the other day when I was making an hour and a half drive, and I couldn't find anything entertaining on the radio. I finally ended up listening to the BBC on AM radio.
(Aside - I love AM radio. Give me talk radio any day. )
Its the little things where I get bored. I was painting the other day with the fam and I found that almost the second I started painting I wished I had a book on tape or some Jack Johnson blasting in my ear. If I'm doing something mindless at work I am not content if I don't have a book on tape or podcast going.
I also have little patience for boring or poorly made movies. Most movies I like just fine but there is a small handful that I really can't sit there and watch.
Now, I don't think that I necessarily have ADD or anything. I think it just stems more from the fact that I have like 1000 books that I want to read, slash, things I want to do that sometimes I get ansy to get done with the current project and move to the next.
Of course, this comes from the same guy that can sit for hours fishing and loves listening to soccer on the radio. Huh. Maybe I'm not bored. Just weird.

We like you anyway
I was bummed not to get to talk to you at the reunion, Darrell, but what can you do with so many people around? So what are the boring movies you were talking about?
Derek
Good question Derek. "Saint" with Val Kilmer comes to mind. Or "You've Got Mail". Or "The Day the Earth Stood Still" with Keanu Reeves.
